RALEIGH, N.C. - Jennifer Bosley (6-7) pitched a shutout in the Wolfpack Challenge as UNCW defeated NC State (28-15), 2-0. NC State collected five hits, but stranded four runners and hit into two double plays as the offense couldn't push a run across. Three different NC State played singled, with Miranda Ervin going 2-for-3 to lead the Wolfpack. Paige Wakefield homered and hit a RBI single for UNC-Wilmington (17-18).

Shaina Ervin (10-8) took the loss, and allowed four hits while striking out five. She allowed a solo home run in the sixth, but was solid the rest of the game.

Hayley House led off the game with a walk, and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. With two outs in the inning, Paige Wakefield singled to right field to plate House for a 1-0 Seahawks lead.

NC State threatened in the fifth and sixth inning, putting runners on with one out. In the fifth, Abbie Sims singled and Lee Hasper walked with one out. Allison Cuculich hit a single to right, but was thrown out trying to advance to second. Hasper and Sims were stuck in a rundown, with Sims getting tagged out by the catcher near home plate to end the inning.

In the sixth, Heather Gelbard singled with one out, and Blair Harkey came in to run. Shanna Smith hit into a fielder's choice and Harkey was out at second. Jen Chamberlin flied out to center to end the innings.

In the bottom half of the sixth, Paige Wakefield collected her second RBI with a solo home run to left field, her second of the season, for a 2-0 UNCW lead.
