**Elevated to Recruiting Coordinator in September 2020.**
Erin Batth has completed four seasons on the coaching staff of the NC State women's basketball program. Head coach Wes Moore announced the addition of Batth as an assistant coach on June 13, 2018.
Batth has been a part of helping the Wolfpack to some of the best results in 48 years of women's basketball at NC State. In her four seasons as an assistant coach, NC State has compiled a 110-17 (55-11 ACC) record, earned four top-10 final rankings and reached Sweet 16 berths in 2018, 2021 and 2022 and an Elite Eight berth in 2022.
Batth has helped Moore guide the Pack to three-straight ACC Tournament titles for the first time in program history. In 2021-22, Batth was a part of leading the Pack to its first regular-season and tournament crown sweep since 1984-85. In addition to reaching the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight for the first time since 1998, that year's team won a program-record 32 games and finished the year ranked No. 3 in the AP Top 25.
In 2019-20, the squad posted a 28-4 overall record and a 14-4 clip in ACC play. That team finished eighth in the Associated Press Top 25, its second top-10 final ranking in a row and its best in the final AP poll since 1990-91. NC State then achieved its third-straight top-10 final ranking with a program-best No. 3 finish in 2020-21 after a 22-3 (12-2 ACC) record and a Sweet 16 appearance.
The season came after the 2018-19 squad finished the campaign ranked ninth in the USA Today Coaches Poll. That year, Batth's first at NC State, the team advanced to its second straight NCAA Sweet 16, achieved the longest winning streak in program history (21 games) and recorded the best start to a season in program history (21-0).
Batth works with the Wolfpack's post players. She has played a large role in the development of ACC Tournament MVP and All-American center Elissa Cunane, as she has been here for each of Cunane's four seasons at NC State.
Batth joined the Wolfpack after spending the 2017-18 season as an assistant coach at Liberty University. Her season at Liberty was a very successful one, as she helped to guide the Lady Flames to Big South regular-season and tournament championships and an appearance in the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
She worked closely with the post players at Liberty, including 2018 Big South Player of the Year Keyen Green (sophomore forward), honorable mention All-Big South performer and Big South Tournament MVP KK Barbour (junior forward) and Big South All-Academic Team member Molly Reagan (junior forward/center). During Batth’s season with the Lady Flames, Liberty ranked 18th nationally in rebound margin at +8.4 per game.
Prior to her time at Liberty, Batth spent three seasons (2014-15 through 2016-17) as an assistant coach at Georgia State. She worked primarily with the Panthers’ post players, helping Georgia State rank among the Sun Belt Conference’s top four rebounding teams for three straight years.
She spent the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Tennessee Tech. The 2012-13 team won 19 games and won the Ohio Valley Conference regular-season title. Batth also served as an assistant at Towson for two seasons (2010-11 and 2011-12), following three years (2007-08 through 2009-10) as Hall of Fame coach Debbie Ryan’s director of operations at Virginia.
During the 2006-07 season, she worked as an executive assistant to the General Manager and Operations Specialist for both the NBA’s Sacramento Kings and the WNBA’s Sacramento Monarchs. Batth began her collegiate coaching career as an assistant for the 2004-05 VCU women’s basketball team.
During her playing career, Batth was a standout post player for Clemson from 1997-98 through 2000-01. As a Tiger, she earned second team Defensive All-America honors and second team All-ACC honors. As a senior, she averaged 12.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, concluding a strong career with 972 points, 722 rebounds, and 116 blocked shots. She played in the NCAA Tournament during all four seasons at Clemson, highlighted by an ACC championship and a Sweet 16 appearance in 1999.
Off the court, Batth was Clemson’s representative to the ACC Student-Athlete Academic Board, the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Board and was a Clemson Minority Council representative. She was twice nominated for the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Award, was chosen for the ACC “Top Six” community service award in 2001 and was also inducted into the historic Clemson Tiger Brotherhood.
Batth was the first player drafted into the WNBA from Clemson, going 59th overall to the Cleveland Rockers in 2001. She played professionally with Panithnikos and Appollon teams in Greece and Migros in Turkey. Her WNBA experience included time with the San Antonio Silver Stars and the Sacramento Monarchs.
A native of Marietta, Ga., Batth earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Clemson in 2001 with a minor in management. She has one daughter - Sierra.
COACH MOORE'S TAKE:
We are really excited to add Erin Batth to our staff. She played in the ACC at a very high level and brings 12 years of Division I coaching experience to our program. She is a high-energy coach who really cares about student-athletes and preparing them not only on the court but also for life.”
