Brooks, Pierre Tabbed WBCA All-America Honorable Mention Selections

RALEIGH – NC State women's basketball student-athletes Zoe Brooks and Khamil Pierre have been named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-America Honorable Mention Team, as announced this week by the organization. Brooks and Pierre are now two-time WBCA All-America Honorable Mention selections, both being recognized with the honor last season.
Both were announced as finalists for the WBCA All-America Team last month.
Brooks is coming off her junior season having averaged career-high marks of 16.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game. She is the first Wolfpack player since Miah Spencer (2015-16) to average those numbers at NC State this century. She finished with 26 10+ point games, nine 20+ point contests, three 10+ rebounding games and 16 5+ assists contests. Brooks was tabbed an All-ACC First Team choice for the second straight year and one of 10 tabbed to the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year award Midseason Watchlist. Brooks earned a career-high 37 points against Virginia in an overtime victory, making a school record 19 free throws on another school record 20 attempts.
In the ACC, Brooks finished second in free throw percentage (86.6), seventh in assists per game and assist/turnover ratio (1.8), eighth in scoring average and minutes per game (32.9) and 11th in field goal percentage (.437) and steals per game (1.7). She finished fourth in free throws made (138) and sixth in free throw percentage for a single season at NC State and in her career, also stands 10th in assists (388), 12th in free throws made (309) and 27th in scoring (1,321).
Pierre is also coming off a stellar season with the Wolfpack, having averaged 16.7 points per game on a career best 52.5 field goal percentage and 11.9 rebounds per game. She finished the season with 30 10+ point games, including 27 straight to end the season, with nine 20+ point games, 23 10+ rebound games and 22 double-doubles. The junior had a share of monster double-doubles including a 12-point, career-high 21-rebound performance vs. Green Bay and 19 points and 20 rebounds at Oklahoma. Pierre was also tabbed an All-ACC First Team selection and was one of five finalists for the Katrina McClain Power Forward of the Year award. She was named with AP All-America Honorable Mention honors as well.
In the ACC, Pierre led the league in rebounds per game and double-doubles and was second in defensive rebounds per game (8.5), fifth in scoring, sixth in field goal percentage and 14th in minutes (31.8). She finished third in double-doubles and seventh in rebounds per game in the NCAA. Pierre's 22 double-doubles and 381 rebounds both marked the second most in each statistical category in a single season in program history.
