Women’s Basketball Plays High Point in Preseason Exhibition

RALEIGH – The NC State women's basketball team will host a free, public exhibition vs. High Point on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. at Reynolds Coliseum.
Doors and parking lots will open at 5 p.m. The exhibition will not be streamed on television or radio and only live stats will be available for the media.
ABOUT NC STATE
- Head coach Wes Moore approaches his 14th season at the helm at NC State, posting a 322-106 (.752) record and 880-275 (.762) mark overall going into his 38th season as a head coach
- Moore has coached more ACC games as a head coach than any other active coach in the conference and has the second most ACC wins among active league coaches (157)
- The Wolfpack has six returners out of the 10-person roster from 2025-26. All-ACC First Team and WBCA All-America Honorable Mention selections Khamil Pierre and Zoe Brooks return for their senior seasons. Pierre and Brooks are two of seven players on the 2025-26 All-ACC Team who return this season
- Starter Qadence Samuels and key reserve Maddie Cox return in 2026-27, as well as rising sophomores Adelaide Jernigan and Ky'She Lunan
- Coach Moore picked up valuable additions in the transfer portal. All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection Desiree Wooten, who led Colorado in scoring (13.4 PPG), joins the Pack, as well as Khady Leye, who is coming off a solid season at Auburn having tallied 9.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Audrey Ericksen originally joined NC State as a walk-on after three seasons at Boston University and earned a scholarship in July
- NC State also brings in another top 25 recruiting class with Kamora Pruitt (No. 40) and Annsley Trivette (No. 94), as well as international prospect Favour Ossai from Nigeria
- The NC State program has 1,098 program wins and a .681 winning percentage. The program's total wins ranks 20th and winning percentage 21st among NCAA Division I programs
SCOUTING HIGH POINT
- High Point is led by first-year head coach Wyatt Foust, who took over the helm after spending four seasons as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Murray State
- The Panthers went 27-6 overall and 13-3 in the Big South last season. High Point was the outright Big South Champion last year and made its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance, third overall
- High Point brings back seven players from the 2025-26 roster and welcomes six new faces. The Panthers were ranked No. 5 on the women's basketball mid-major portal class by On3
- Chana Paxixe is the returning leading scorer, having averaged 6.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game with 33 games played and one start. Brecken Snotherly logged 5.2 points and 4.4 boards per game and Peyton Gerdes registered 6.3 points and 2.7 rebounds per game
- Taylor Feldman is a Purdue transfer, having logged 6.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game last season. Juliann Woodard tallied 3.7 points per game at Michigan State last season and Rylee Bess comes from Purdue Fort Wayne, where she was a Horizon League All-Freshman Team selection with 8.9 points per game and 47 total steals
