• Lined up for six races for the Sun Devils, including the NCAA Pre-Nationals, the Pac-10 Conference Championships, and the NCAA West Regional
• Redshirted in 2007, competing unattached in two races

• A 2007 graduate of Yuma Catholic High School (Yuma, Ariz.)
• Lettered four times each in cross country and track and field
• Two-time state champion after claiming the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs in 2006
• Placed third at the state cross country meet as a senior
• Three-time Yuma Sun/Rotary Club Runner of the Year for cross country (2004-06)
• Participated in the Border War with New Mexico (pits top 25 cross country runners from Arizona against the top 25 from New Mexico)
• A 2005 and 2006 all-regional selection
• School record-holder in the 800 meters, 1600 meters and 3200 meters
• Competed twice in the P.F. Chang's Rock-and-Roll Half-Marathon, placing 13th in 2006 and 17th in 2007
• Was a three-time recipient of the President's Award for Academic Excellence (2004-06)
• Member of the National Honor Society and was an AIA Scholar-Athlete
