Wolfpack Hosts Davidson Sunday Evening

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State welcomes Davidson to Dail Soccer Stadium for a Sunday evening matchup at 5 p.m. on ACCNX. The match will serve as the program's Fan Appreciation and Youth League Night. Parking and admission are free.
The Wolfpack enters Sunday's match 5-0 and is looking to start a season 6-0 for the first time since 2008 with a win over the Wildcats. NC State is also seeking its sixth victory of the season, which would surpass its win total from the entire 2025 campaign.

Last Time Out
NC State women's soccer shut out High Point, 3-0, on Thursday night at Vert Stadium to move to 5-0 for the first time since 2008, marking the program's best start to a season in 18 years. Jade Bordeleau, Erica Roberts and Carly Montgomery scored in the win, while Riley Pickels recorded the first clean sheet by an NC State freshman since 2021.
Bordeleau opened the scoring in the 26th minute on NC State's first penalty kick goal of the season after Katie Richter was fouled in the box. Roberts doubled the lead in the 38th minute with a strike from outside the box before Montgomery capped the scoring in the 82nd minute, heading home a pass from Mana Nakata on a set piece. NC State outshot High Point, 14-6, while Pickels made a pair of saves to earn her first career clean sheet in just her second collegiate start.
Roberts Finding Her Rhythm
Roberts has been a key piece of NC State's attack this season, scoring three goals, including one in each of the Wolfpack's last two matches. She also leads the Pack with 25 shots through the first five games of the season.
Now in her fifth collegiate season, Roberts has found a sense of stability after a career marked by transitions. After spending two seasons at Florida that were impacted by injuries, she transferred to East Carolina, where she played for Higgins before following him to Raleigh. Now healthy and in her second season with the Wolfpack, Roberts is finding her stride, and her early-season production is showing on the pitch.
Scouting the Wildcats
Davidson enters Sunday's contest at 2-1-1 following a 7-7-3 campaign in 2025 that included a 1-0 victory over NC State in the teams' most recent meeting. The Wildcats and Wolfpack have already shared two common opponents this season, with Davidson earning a 1-0 win over High Point in its season opener before playing Elon to a 3-3 come-from-behind draw.
Head coach Riley Piechnick enters her fourth season at the helm of the Davidson program and has recorded 21 wins during her tenure. Freshman Adriana Dunat has led the Wildcats' attack early this season, scoring a team-high three goals through Davidson's first four matches.
Series History
Sunday's match marks the 14th all-time meeting between NC State and Davidson, with the Wolfpack holding an 11-2 advantage in the series. Davidson won the most recent meeting, taking a 1-0 victory at home over the Pack in 2025.
The Wildcats are making their first trip to Dail Soccer Stadium since 2017, when NC State earned a 4-0 victory over Davidson for its 11th all-time win in the series.
