Wolfpack Earns Two First-Team & Two Second-Team All-America Honors on Last Day of NCAA Championships

EUGENE, OR - The Wolfpack closed out the 2026 outdoor season at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with two First-Team All-America honors and two Second-Team All-America honor on the meet's final day.
Freshman Sadie Engelhardt capped off an impressive season by competing in the 1500m final, earning Second-Team All-America honors with an 11th-place finish in 4:16.96.
In the 3000m steeplechase, Angelina Napoleon delivered a season-best performance, clocking 9:35.56 to place fourth overall and secure First-Team All-America honors.Â
Not far behind was Kate Putman, who continued her remarkable rise in just her fifth-ever steeplechase race. Putman crossed the line in sixth in 9:45.96 to earn First-Team All-America honors and cap off an outstanding season.
The 5000m race capped off the meet for the Wolfpack. Hannah Gapes delivered a personal-best performance to earn Second-Team All-American honors. Her time of 15:25.93 ranks No. 4 all-time at NC State.
Bethany Michalak finished 18th overall in the 5000m, earning All-American honorable mention recognition.
