NC State Hears Its Name Called; Will Head to Auburn to Begin 2026 NCAA Tournament

RALEIGH, N.C. – For the 23rd time under head coach Elliott Avent, NC State baseball will head to the NCAA Tournament. The Pack was selected as the No. 3 seed for the Auburn Regional.
NC State joins Auburn, UCF, and Milwaukee.
This will be the second straight year the Pack heads to the Plains and will start the regional by facing the No. 2 seed UCF on Friday, May 29th, at 6 p.m. on ESPU. Making their 10th NCAA Regional appearance in the last 11 seasons.
This will be the third regional appearance for the Wolfpack in Auburn. Fans looking to follow the Wolfpack to Auburn can purchase tickets HERE. All-Session tickets will go on sale to the public on Monday at 1:30 PM CT, following the NCAA Selection Show.
NC State finished the 2026 regular season 32-22 and 14-16 in the ACC, which had the toughest conference schedule. The Wolfpack is one of nine ACC teams to make the field.
Last season, NC State went 2-2 in the Auburn Regional after beating Central Connecticut State and Stetson before falling to Auburn on Sunday. The winner of the Auburn Regional will match up with the winner of the Lincoln Regional.
Earlier this week, head coach Elliott Avent announced his retirement after 30 seasons leading the Wolfpack. Longtime associate head coach Chris Hart has been named as NC State's next head coach.
