Pack Hosts Cal for Key Conference Series

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State softball team is set to host Cal for the first time since the Golden Bears joined the conference in 2024, marking the Pack's fifth conference series of the season.
The two teams will open play on Friday, April 10 at 7 p.m. at Dail Softball Stadium. Game two is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Saturday, with both contests streaming on ACCNX.
The series finale will begin Sunday at 6 p.m. and will air on ACC Network with Mike Couzens (PxP) and Monica Abbott (analyst) on the call.
The weekend will also serve as the Pack's annual Alumni Weekend, with an alumnae recognition ceremony scheduled prior to Saturday's game.
The Series History

- Friday marks the third meeting between the two programs and the series marks the first ever. The weekend also marks the first time the Pack has faced the Golden Bears since they joined the ACC in 2024.

- With just four weeks remaining in the regular season, the Pack finds itself in a race against the clock as it looks to climb the conference standings and secure its first ACC Tournament berth since 2022.
- Every game carries added weight down the stretch, with the Wolfpack needing key wins in the final month to punch its ticket to postseason play.
- After hosting Cal, NC State will travel to the west coast to take on a top-25 ranked Stanford before traveling to the birthplace of the Nation to take on a top-25 Virginia squad. The final series of the conference action will be in Raleigh against a solid Louisville squad.
- If the season ended TODAY, the Pack would be in the ACC tournament. A series win over the Golden Bears will certainly help the Pack's resume, but can NC State steal a game or two in the following two series?
