CHARLOTTE, N.C. - For the second consecutive week, Sadie Engelhardt has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Freshman of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
At the Wake Forest Invitational, Engelhardt shattered both the NC State and ACC records in the 1500m with a time of 4:03.28. The previous mark (4:06.49) was set by Katelyn Tuohy in 2023.
Engelhardt's time currently ranks No. 3 in the NCAA this season, and No. 6 all-time.
Just one week earlier, she broke the school record in the 800m, crossing the finish line in 2:02.31 at the Duke Invitational.
In an already remarkable freshman campaign, Engelhardt has now broken two ACC records and four NC State records, including her record-setting performances in the indoor mile and as a member of the distance medley relay team.
This latest recognition marks her second ACC outdoor weekly honor.
