Men’s Tennis Falls in the Second Round of the ACC Championship

CARY, N.C. – Fifth-seeded NC State men's tennis was unable to come out on top of the 13th-seeded Florida State Seminoles in the second round of the 2026 ACC Championship.
After earning a bye through the first round of the 2026 ACC Championship at Cary Tennis Park, NC State fell in the nail-biting 4-3 match with Florida State on Thursday afternoon, moving to 16-7 overall.
The Pack previously defeated the Seminoles 4-1 at the beginning of March in Tallahassee, but both teams brought a slightly different lineup to the table today.
The doubles point belonged to Florida State due to their 6-2 win on court one and 7-5 win on court three, pausing action on court two.
NC State was able to get up 3-1 for a few minutes with wins on courts two, four, and one, before Florida State took the next three points on five, three, and six.
Jules Leroux moved back to court two in singles and flew through his two-set match over No. 117 Corey Craig by a 6-2, 6-1 score, putting his team on the board. In his first collegiate postseason match, Ainius Sabaliauskas claimed a win on court four in two sets over Azariah Rusher to push the lead to 2-1.
After dropping the first set, 31st-ranked Martin Borisiouk was able to control No. 118 Luis Felipe Miguel on court one in the second and third sets to increase NC State's momentum with a 3-1 lead.
William Manning was unable to complete a comeback on court three, bringing the overall score to 3-3, with the match winner being determined by the freshmen on court six. Darius Pop pushed his match to a third set by taking the second set after falling in the first set tiebreaker. The final set was held at 5-5 before a few service errors by Pop helped Hornung get ahead 6-5 before clinching at 7-5.
