Wolfpack Records Top-10 Finishes in All Three Events at NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, AR - The Wolfpack closed out the indoor track & field season at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas. NC State was represented in three events, the mile, distance medley relay and 3000m, recording top-10 finishes in each. The team ended the championship tied for 23rd with 10 points.
MILE
On Friday, Sadie Engelhardt finished first in her heat and ninth overall in the prelims with a time of 4:38.62 to advance to the mile final.
She returned on Saturday to earn six points for the Wolfpack, placing third in the final with a time of 4:40.21 and securing First Team All-American honors. One of just two freshmen in the final, Engelhardt was the first freshman across the line.
DISTANCE MEDLEY RELAY
Bethany Michalak, Shauné Ingraham, Angelina Napoleon and Hannah Gapes earned First Team All-American honors after finishing fifth with a time of 10:51.12, the third-fastest time in NC State history.
Michalak opened with a 3:22.31 split in the 1200m, followed by Ingraham's 54.46 in the 400. Napoleon ran 2:04.50 on the 800m leg before Gapes anchored the 1600m in 4:29.87. The fifth-place finish added four points to the Wolfpack's team total.
3000m
Angelina Napoleon earned Second Team All-American honors with a 10th-place finish in the 3000m, crossing the line in 8:55.45.

The Wolfpack will turn to the outdoor season, with the first competition, the 49er Classic, at UNC Charlotte on March 20-21.
