Reaching New Heights
In the fifth release of the United Soccer Coaches poll this season, NC State landed at the very top of the list. That marked the first time the program had ever been No. 1 in the country in this poll. This comes after the team is officially the last school in the league to concede a goal. Eight games and eight shutouts, only one match resulted in a draw. The last time a team had eight shutouts in its first eight games of the season was Creighton in 2011. The squad continues to prove it has one of the most dominant offenses as well as the most dominant defenses in the nation. The Pack has a scoring differential of 26-1, nearly half of that comes from forward Donavan Phillip, who currently sits with 13 total goals on the season. Phillip leads the team and the NCAA in scoring and has so far tabbed two hat tricks this season.
