Reaching New Heights
In the fifth release of the United Soccer Coaches poll this season, NC State landed at the very top of the list. This marks the first time the program has ever been No. 1 in the country in this poll. This comes after the team is officially the only school in the league to not yet concede a goal. Eight games and eight shutouts, only one match was a draw. The last time a team had eight shutouts in its first eight games of the season was Creighton in 2011. The squad continues to prove it has one of the most dominant offenses as well as the most dominant defenses in the nation. The Pack has a scoring differential of 25-0, nearly half of that comes from forward Donavan Phillip, who currently sits with 12 total goals on the season. Phillip leads the team and the NCAA in scoring and has so far tabbed two hat tricks this season.
