Head coach Laurie Henes enters her 19th season leading the women's program and her third year as the director of the track & field and cross country programs.
The women enter the season ranked No. 1 in the ACC Preseason Poll and No. 3 nationally in the USTFCCCA National Preseason Coaches' Poll. After narrowly missing out on conference and national titles a year ago, the Wolfpack is motivated to reclaim both while pursuing a ninth consecutive NCAA Southeast Regional Championship title.
On the men's side, Rollie Geiger starts his 44th season as the head coach of the men's cross country team. His squad opens the year ranked No. 8 in the ACC and No. 9 in the USTFCCCA Southeast Regional Poll, aiming to build momentum throughout the fall.
Following the Adidas XC challenge, NC State will split for a pair of meets. One group will travel to Chicago, Ill., for the Sean Loyola Lakefront Invitational, while the other will stay in-state to compete at the ECU Pirate Invitational in Greenville, N.C.
