
Shick and Van Sambeek Earn ITA All-America Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. – NC State men's tennis seniors Braden Shick and Fons Van Sambeek close out their collegiate careers with the Pack by earning ITA All-American status for their impressive doubles play in the 2024-25 season.
Finishing the 2024-25 season ranked fifth in the country together, the two each earn All-America honors for the first time in their careers as seniors. The two become the 10th and 11th All-Americans in NC State men's tennis program history.
The veteran duo led the team at the No. 1 doubles position in the lineup for the season, finishing 19-9 overall, and 15-7 in the dual-action season. Throughout their final season together they collected six ranked wins, most notably over Florida State's No. 3 Alex Bulte and Youcef Rihane as well as Mississippi State's No. 9 Petar Jovanovic and Benito Sanchez Martinez.
The criteria for ITA All-America honors include earning a top 16 seed into the NCAA Singles Championship, advancing to the round of 16 at the NCAA Championship, or finishing in the top 20 of the final ITA Singles Rankings. All-America recognition is awarded to doubles teams that earn a top-eight seed into the NCAA Championship, reach the NCAA Championship quarterfinals or finish in the top 10 in the final ITA National Doubles Rankings.
