Men’s Tennis Heading to Athens to Start the NCAA Championship

RALEIGH – The NC State men's tennis team has qualified for the NCAA Championship for the seventh year in a row (2020 cancelled due to COVID). The squad will travel to Athens, Ga., to face Middle Tennessee in the first round on Friday, May 1.
Coming off its second-round loss in the ACC Tournament, the Pack sits at 16-7 on the season. The bid into the team NCAA Tournament marks the 16th overall appearance in program history.
NC State will face Middle Tennessee in the first round of the NCAA Championship on Friday, May 1, at 1 p.m. in the region hosted by Georgia. Elon will face Georgia in the other first round match afterwards at 4 p.m., with winners of both meetings advancing to the second round on Saturday.
The Pack last faced Middle Tennessee in 2022, when NC State claimed a 4-3 victory in the second round of the tournament to advance to its second-ever Super Regional.
Competition will take place at the Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga., which is one of the largest on-campus tennis facilities in the country, with a seating capacity of over 5,000 fans. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased here, all seating is general admission.
