CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After helping NC State to its first sweep of Clemson since 2018, outfielder Brayden Fraasman has been named ACC Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Fraasman led the No.25 Wolfpack to a sweep of No. 2 Clemson after hitting .692 in three games, going 9-13 over the weekend. Clemson hadn't lost an opening game of a series all season until Fraasman went 5-5 with two home runs and seven RBIs to lead No. 25 NC State to a 14-4 run-rule victory over No. 2 Clemson on Thursday night in front of a sold-out Doak Field.
It was the first five-hit game for an NC State player this season and the third game by a Wolfpack player to have five or more RBIs in a game. Fraasman is the first Wolfpack player with at least seven RBIs and five hits in a game since 2023. He becomes just one of three players this year in the ACC to have seven or more RBIs in a game.
Fraasman continued his big weekend in game two, adding three more hits and a run. In the series finale, he recorded a hit and scored a run to secure the sweep of the Tigers. He scored four runs across the weekend.
The Okeana, Ohio native is hitting .312 on the season in 41 games. He has 49 hits and 43 RBIs and leads the Wolfpack with 10 home runs. He joins Ryan Marohn as the second Wolfpack player to earn ACC weekly honors after Marohn won ACC Pitcher of the Week in week five.
