DeCriscio Named to Brooks Wallace Award Watch List

Senior listed among nation’s top shortstops
OVERLAND PARK, Kansas - NC State baseball's Justin DeCriscio has been named to the Brooks Wallace Award Watch List, which is given annually to the nation's top shortstop, as announced by the College Baseball Foundation.

A total of 100 of the most talented shortstops in the nation were named to the 2025 watch list. DeCriscio is the first Wolfpack shortstop on the watch list since 2018, when former Wolfpack standout Will Wilson was named to the watch list.

Trea Turner won the award in 2014.

The Orange County, CA. native has a .314 batting average and eight home runs, which are tied for the team lead and more than he hit in three years at San Diego. DeCriscio has collected 37 hits this season and 30 RBIs.

In the ACC, DeCriscio is the toughest batter to strike out. In 115 at-bats, DeCriscio has just struck out eight times, resulting in 14.4 at-bats between strikeouts, ranking 20th in the nation.

DeCriscio is one of nine shortstops from the ACC to make the list.

The award honors and is named for former Texas Tech shortstop Brooks Wallace, who played for the Red Raiders from 1977 to 1980. Wallace died of leukemia at the age of 27.
