Hannah Gapes, Grace Hartman, and Women’s DMR Team Qualify for NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships

RALEIGH, N.C. – Hannah Gapes, Grace Hartman, and the NC State Women's Distance Medley Relay (DMR) team have qualified to represent the NC State at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, the NCAA announced Tuesday.
3000m
Gapes and Hartman both hold top-20 rankings in the 3000m, with Gapes sitting at 16th and Hartman at 14th. Gapes clocked an 8:48.96 at the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 3, 2025, where she finished second and earned First-Team All-ACC honors.
Hartman competed at the Boston College Eagle Elite Invitational on Feb. 14, 2025, posting a career-best 8:46.57. She now ranks second on NC State's indoor all-time top-10 list for the event.
5000m
Hartman will also represent NC State in the 5000m, where she currently ranks seventh nationally. She claimed victory at the JDL Flat is Fast Invitational on Jan. 26, 2025, running a career-best 15:19.72 (converted to 15:12.73). Hartman now holds the No. 2 all-time spot in program history for the 5000m.
Distance Medley Relay
The NC State DMR team, consisting of Gapes, Jordyn Parker, Brooke Rauber, and Hartman, set a new program record at the Boston University DMR Challenge on Feb. 21, 2025. The team shattered the previous record of 10:52.16 with a time of 10:48.51, marking the fastest performance in program history for the event. The team is currently ranked 10th in the nation.
NCAA Indoor Championships
The 2025 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held from Friday, March 14, to Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va. The Women's DMR will take place on Friday, March 14, at 5:20 p.m. ET, the 5000m will be held on Friday at 4:42 p.m. ET, and the 3000m will take place on Saturday, March 15, at 4:00 p.m. ET.
