The Basics of the Games
- The Pack will host the Seahawks for the first time since 2022 for the 13th and 14th all-time meetings. NC State holds a 8-4 advantage over UNCW in the series history.
- NC State looks to earn its first win over the Wolverines as the Pack hosts Michigan at Dail for the third time in program history. Michigan has won all seven meetings.
- The Royals will visit Dail for the second time in a year. NC State won the initial two meetings last season.
- would be the 13th win of the season
- would be the 43rd win in the Leftwich Era
- would be the 609th win in program history
- would be the 273rd win at Dail Softball Stadium
- The Pack has had someone go 100% from the batter's box 14 different times this season - whether it be 1-for-1, 2-for-2, or 3-for-3 if you're Teagan Thrunk.
- Graduate infielder Michele Tarpey leads the way with three games going 100% from the box.
- Junior infielder Teagan Thrunk is the most recent member of the Pack to go 100% from the box as she finished the second game of the Campbell double-header going 3-for-3 from the box to lead the team offensively.
- Freshman Kendall Simmers is the only freshman to start all 15 games thus far this season.
- At the Marucci Classic, the freshie hit .778 on the weekend, going 7-for-9 from the box with a double and a homer and scored six runs and five RBI's. She had a stellar 1.222 slugging percentage AND went 100% from the field. To add on to the greatness, she struck out only once.
- The Bridgewater, Va. native recorded her first collegiate homer against Central Florida on Feb. 7.
- Defensively, she shifted between second base and shortstop throughout opening weekend but has solidified her starting spot at short.
- Since assistant coach Paige Cassady joined the Wolfpack as the pitching coach, the staff's ERA's have drastically improved -- individually and as a team.
- Through the first 15 games of 2024, the NC State pitching staff held a team ERA of 2.48 ... an improvement of 3.64 from the year prior (2023).
- The team ERA of 1.62Â (as of Feb. 25) is the second lowest in program history since 2005 when the staff had a 1.40 ERA.
- As of Feb. 25, sophomore Carly Maxton ranks staff on the team with her 0.50 ERA, the first sub-1 ERA by a Wolfpack pitcher since 2011 when Jade Hennig had a 0.91.
- Maxton's 0.50 is the second lowest by an NC State pitcher through 15 games of the season since Dalthrop had a perfect 0.00 in 2007.
- Sophomore right handed pitcher Carly Maxton topped her own career high in strikeouts that she set just seven days prior in the Pack's shutout win over Dartmouth on Feb. 14.
- She tallied 10 strikeouts in her second complete game and second shutout of the season. She caught six batters swinging and got four looking in the outing.
- Her 10 K's make her just the second person on the staff to record a game with double-digit strikeouts in their career (Rylee Wyman vs. UConn on 2/17/24).
- The Townsend, DE native is the only pitcher on the roster with a 0.00 ERA through two weeks as well.
- The Wolfpack has a current home win streak of six games. Under the leadership of Leftwich, the Pack won 10 straight at Dail stadium last season and a sweep during the Raleigh Times would do the same.
- The 10-game win-streak at Dail is the longest in the last five seasons for the Pack, with 2023 coming in a close second with nine-straight-wins.
