#19 Pack Falls to #5 Virginia, Concludes Time at ITA Team Indoors

Dallas, Texas – 19th-ranked NC State men's tennis concludes its time at the 2025 ITA National Team Indoor Championships after falling to fifth-ranked Virginia by a 4-1 score Saturday afternoon.
After falling out of the 2025 ITA National Team Indoor Championships main draw last night, NC State moved into the consolation bracket to face the No. 2 seed Virginia for its last match of the tournament.
In doubles action, the top two doubles pairs for the Pack found another day of ranked wins to clinch the crucial point.
Despite moving into singles play in the lead, the red-and-white were unable to put any more points on the scoreboard. Luca Staeheli was the only successful player to win his first set, creating an uphill battle for the team.
On courts two, three, and six, members of the Pack were able to push their matches to three sets after claiming the second but none were able to come up with a win before Virginia would clinch.

NC State returns home for the first time in over a month next Sunday, February 23 at noon to face in-state competition UNC Greensboro at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
