
Pack Takes Down Boston College, 70-62

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State men's basketball team never trailed in beating Boston College, 70-62, Saturday afternoon inside the Lenovo Center.
NC State had a 15-point lead at halftime and Boston College did not closer than 12 in the second half until a three-pointer 3:59 to play got the Eagles within nine.
It was the first time BC had been within single digits since it was 23-14 with 10:21 left in the first half.
After the Eagles got within nine, Michael O'Connell melted the show clock and found Ben Middlebrooks for lay-up to push the Pack's advantage back into double figures and the Eagles would not score again until it made four straight free throws to close the scoring in the final 30 seconds of the game.
Jayden Taylor led NC State with 19 points and had a team-best four steals.
Taylor's four steals were part of 12 for the Pack as NC State finished with the second-most steals in a game this season and most against an ACC opponent.
Brandon Huntley-Hatfield also reached double figures with 11 points.
O'Connell finished with a game-high six assists and had zero turnovers in 28 minutes of action.
NC State jumped out to an 8-0 lead courtesy of Jayden Taylor as the senior guard scored the first eight points of the game.
The Eagles never got closer than seven points the rest of the first half as NC State forced Boston College into 14 turnovers in the opening 20 minutes and had a 13-0 advantage in points off turnovers.
Boston College was led by Donald Hand, Jr., who scored a game-high 22 points.
NC State returns to action Wednesday when it makes the short drive over to Chapel Hill to play North Carolina. Tipoff against the Tar Heels is 7 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN.
