Men’s Soccer Meets Again with UNCG in NCAA Sweet 16

RALEIGH – No. 15 seed NC State men's soccer is slated to host UNC Greensboro in the NCAA Third Round on Sunday at 6 p.m. This marks back-to-back seasons for the Pack to reach the Sweet 16.
The match will be televised on ESPN+ here, while live stats will be available on StatBroadcast here.
Fans wishing to attend the match must purchase tickets at the gate or online here.
Due to construction on Morrill Dr., fans should expect major delays and allow more time to arrive on campus. For egress, patrons will be directed to use Cates Ave. to Pullen Road or Dan Allen Dr. to access Western Blvd.

Series History
• Sunday's meeting marks the 12th contest between the NC State Wolfpack and the UNC Greensboro Spartans overall.
• The two already met this season in October, which resulted in a 1-1 draw in Raleigh, the Pack's goal was from a penalty kick in the 84th minute.
Quick Notes
• The Wolfpack started the season ranked at No. 14 in the preseason United Soccer Coaches poll, where it finished last season. After just week one of the regular season, the squad landed at eighth in the country, the last time the program was ranked that high was in September of 2018.
• The team has bested its highest-ever ranking in the United Soccer Coaches poll three times this season. The previous best for the program was No. 8 set in 2018, this season the team has landed at No. 8, No. 5, No. 2, and finally No. 1.
• After being picked to finish eighth in a highly-competitive Atlantic Coast Conference, NC State finished third, just one league win away from sharing the regular season title with Virginia.
• This game marks the first-ever men's soccer second round ACC Tournament match in program history to be held at Dail Soccer Stadium.
• A crowd of 5,083 fans at the game vs. North Carolina on Sept. 5 set a new Dail Soccer Stadium attendance record.
• NC State was the last school in the entire NCAA to concede a goal.
• Six players were mentioned in TopDrawerSoccer's midseason Players to Watch list. Donavan Phillip at No. 1, Nikola Markovic at No. 16, Logan Erb at No. 21, Tyler Caton at No. 49, Taig Healy at No. 62, and then Riley Moloney at No. 7 on the freshmen list.
