No. 1 NC State Women Set for XC Championship Run in Missouri; Valyo to Represent the Men

COLUMBIA, MO - The NC State women's cross country team will compete on Saturday at the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Columbia, Missouri, at Gans Greek Cross Country Course. The Wolfpack will look to capture its fourth national title in five years.
On the men's side, Noah Valyo will race in the 10K after earning an individual bid to the NCAA Championship.

LAST TIME OUT
The Wolfpack women enter the NCAA Championship race fresh off their ninth consecutive NCAA Southeast Regional title. Racing at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, VA, NC State dominated the field with 55 points, finishing 45 points ahead of runner-up South Carolina.
The meet was a battle of the Carolinas with NC State, South Carolina and North Carolina taking the top three spots. For the pack, Hannah Gapes set the tone with a runner-up finish in 19:08.3. She was joined in the top 10 by Angelina Napoleon (6th, 19:15.0) and Bethany Michalak (8th, 9:29.2).
Brooke Rauber (14th, 19:49.3) and Fleur Templier (25th, 20:1.9) closed out the scoring five, with all five earning All-Region honors. Briley Bickerstaff (34th, 20:19.6) and Kate Putman (51st, 20:38.7) rounded out the Wolfpack's seven runners.
The Wolfpack men placed tenth overall. Noah Valyo led the team with a 21st-place finish (30:11.3), securing an individual bid to the NCAA Championships.
2024 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
At last year's national championships, Grace Hartman and Hannah Gapes led the Wolfpack from start to finish. Hartman placed fifth in 19:39.5, followed closely by Gapes in eighth with a time of 19:42.7. Both earned All-American honors for their top-40 finishes.
NC State's lineup was completed with Brooke Rauber, Angelina Napoleon, Bethany Michalak, Kate Putman and Ellie Shea, all of whom finished under 22:02.5.
PACK IN THE POLLS
For the first time this season, the Wolfpack Women have climbed to No. 1 in the nation, according to the USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll. They held the No. 2 spot for six weeks.
