
Wolfpack Continues Postseason at NCAA Southeast Regional Championships

LAST TIME OUT
The NC State women's cross country team secured its 30th ACC Championship title and ninth title in the last ten years at the 2025 ACC Cross Country Championships. The Wolfpack dominated the race, scoring 28 points, 61 points ahead of runner-up Notre Dame.
Angelina Napoleon claimed the individual title in 19:13.9, becoming the Wolfpack's seventh consecutive ACC Women's individual champion. Grace Hartman followed closely behind in fourth place at 19:16.9. Napoleon and Hartman both broke the previous course record.
Hannah Gapes (5th, 19:24.4), Bethany Michalak (8th, 19:35.4) and Sadie Engelhardt (10th, 19:45.4) completed NC State's scoring five. They, along with Brooke Rauber (12th, 19:50.3), earned All-ACC honors, and Engelhardt was also recognized as ACC Freshman of the Year.
On the men's side, NC State placed 10th overall, led by Noah Valyo, who finished 31st in 23:33.9. He was followed by Jimmy Mullarkey (24:01.4) and Luke Wiley (24:17.9) to round out the Pack's top three.
2024 SOUTHEAST REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Last season, the women captured their eighth consecutive NCAA Southeast Regional Championship title, earning an automatic berth to the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championship with a team total of 60 points.
Grace Hartman won the individual title, while Hannah Gapes followed close behind third place. All seven NC State runners finished within the top 50, with Hartman, Gapes, Brooke Rauber and Bethany Michalak collecting All-Region honors.
The men placed seventh overall with 218 points. Alumni Brett Gardner and Toby Gualter, along with current athlete Ryan Motondo, led the way as the team's top three finishers. Gardner went on to earn All-Region honors.
PACK IN THE POLLS
The NC State women's cross country team heads into regionals ranked No. 2 in the nation and No. 1 in the Southeast Region, according to the USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll. The team has maintained its top spot in the Southeast Region since preseason and has held the No. 2 national ranking since September 30.
