NC State XC Women Win Ninth Straight NCAA Southeast Regional Championship Title

EARLYSVILLE, VA - The NC State men's and women's cross country teams competed Friday at the 2025 NCAA Southeast Regional Championships in Earlysville, VA at Panorama Farms.
The women captured their ninth consecutive NCAA Southeast Regional title, securing an automatic bid to the NCAA Cross Country Championships. The Wolfpack dominated with 54 points, finishing 43 points ahead of runner-up South Carolina. The men finished 10th overall with 289 points.
For the women, Hannah Gapes led the Pack with a runner-up finish in 19:08.3. She was followed by Angelina Napoleon (6th, 19:15.0) and Bethany Michalak (8th, 19:29.2) to round out a strong top group.
Like last year, all seven NC State women placed in the top 50, fueling the team's championship performance. Brooke Rauber placed 14th (19:49.3), followed by Fleur Templier (24th, 20:11.9), Briely Bickerstaff (33rd, 20:19.6) and Kate Putman (50th, 20:38.7).
In the men's 10K, Noah Valyo led the Wolfpack with a 21st-place finish, clocking in at 30:11.3. Tyler Surface followed in 57th (30:59.5), while Kevin Antczak finished 66th (31:11.5) to round out the top three for the NC State men.
Additional team finishers included Jimmy Mullarkey (71st, 31:15.5), Luke Wiley (74th, 31:18.2), Michael Haskin (89th, 31:43.1) and Philip Blum (97th, 31:53.5).
The top-25 runners from each race were awarded All-Region honors. Honors are indicated with an asterisk (*).

A first-place finish secured the women an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships in Columbia, Missouri, on November 22.
On Saturday, November 15, the NCAA Cross Country Selection Committee will announce the 13 at-large selections during a selection show at 5 p.m. The men's team awaits a potential at-large bid.
