CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Jade Bordeleau and Olivia Pratapas of NC State women's soccer have earned ACC weekly honors for their performances in the Wolfpack's 2-1 upset over No. 12 Wake Forest, as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon. Bordeleau was named ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, while Pratapas earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks.
The honors mark the first time since Oct. 19, 2021, that NC State has had multiple ACC weekly award winners in the same week.
Bordeleau and Pratapas were pivotal in the Wolfpack securing its first ranked victory since Nov. 14, 2021. Bordeleau, a junior forward from Terrebonne, Quebec, recorded a game-winning brace in just 38 seconds, converting a penalty in the ninth minute before adding an open-play goal moments later. Pratapas, a senior goalkeeper from Clemmons, N.C., anchored the Pack defense with a season-best eight saves, including seven in the second half after allowing Wake Forest to score in the 43rd minute. Her eight saves were the most by an ACC goalkeeper in a conference win so far this season.
Bordeleau's brace marked her fourth straight game with at least one goal, the longest scoring streak by a Wolfpack player since 2011, with three of those goals coming against top-15 opponents. She leads NC State with eight goals this season, tied for the most by a Wolfpack player since 2022.
I am very proud of Jade, said head coach Gary Higgins. To score in four games in a row at any level is impressive, but to do it in the ACC is exceptional. She has continued to improve as the season goes on, and she is playing with so much confidence. She has been working so hard for her teammates and now she is getting rewarded with goals and recognition.
Pratapas' honor marks her second defensive weekly award in a three-week span. She is the first NC State player to earn the ACC's weekly defensive award twice in a season since Sydney Wootten accomplished the feat in 2016.
I couldn't be happier for Liv, Higgins added. She had another outstanding performance against Wake Forest this past week. She is not only making big saves, but she is doing a great job communicating with her teammates and preventing chances from happening.
NC State has five matches remaining in the regular season, beginning Thursday, Oct. 9 (7 p.m.), at Boston College. The Wolfpack currently sits 10th in the ACC standings as it battles for a spot in the six-team ACC Women's Soccer Championship.
