
No. 22 NC State Sets Season Highs in Win Over No. 23 North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — No. 22 NC State Gymnastics achieved season highs on three events en route to a strong team victory over in-state rival No. 23 North Carolina on Friday night at Carmichael Arena.
The victory was the Wolfpack's fourth consecutive win over the Tar Heels, improving the series record to 19-10. Last season, NC State scored a 196.225 in its last appearance at Carmichael Arena against UNC
The meet was highlighted by standout performances, with multiple NC State gymnasts setting career and season bests. Kailee Adomaites earned third place on bars with a career-high 9.875, while Lauren Wright achieved a career-high 9.825 on vault, tying for third with Chloe Negrete.
Ashley Knight secured second place on vault with a strong 9.850, and Krista Zultevicz delivered a fiery season-best 9.825 on floor. Chloe Negrete dazzled on floor, taking first place with a stunning 9.925, followed by Syniya Thomas in second with an outstanding routine. Additionally, Ava Myers matched her career-best 9.800 on bars, contributing to NC State's exceptional performance.
BARS (49.000)
NC State opened the night on bars, where Kailee Adomaites led the way with a career-high 9.875. Peyton Childs and Ava Myers kept the momentum going, both scoring 9.800. Myers' performance matched her career high on bars and helped the Wolfpack achieve a season-best team total of 49.000 on the event.
VAULT (49.100)
The Wolfpack posted another season high on vault, led by Meg Adler, who recorded a season-best 9.800. Lauren Wright set a career high with an explosive 9.825, tying for third with Chloe Negrete, who also scored 9.825. Syniya Thomas and Ashley Knight both scored above 9.800, with Knight securing second overall in the event.
FLOOR (49.325)
On floor, the Pack delivered its highest-scoring event of the night with a season-best 49.325. Chloe Negrete anchored the event with a stunning 9.925 to take first place. Meg Adler followed with a strong performance, earning a 9.850 to tie for third. Krista Zultevicz added to the season-high effort, hitting a 9.825 for her best performance of the season.
BEAM (48.925)
NC State wrapped up the evening on beam, where Chloe Negrete earned her second 9.900 of the meet, finishing first overall. Syniya Thomas contributed a solid 9.800 to secure second place, while Katie Harper rounded out the top three with a 9.775.
UP NEXT
The Wolfpack returns to action on Feb. 2, hosting ACC rival No. 7 Cal at Reynolds Coliseum. The meet will feature a Wicked movie theme and a focus on Mental Health Awareness. Spectators are encouraged to wear pink or green to celebrate the movie and honor mental health awareness. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. and will be broadcast on ACCNX.
