
Wolfpack Head on the Road to Face No. 13 Notre Dame and Louisville

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State women's soccer team will head on the road this week to face No. 13 Notre Dame on Thursday night and Louisville on Sunday.
The Wolfpack's match against the Fighting Irish will be held Thursday night at 7 p.m., The Pack is then back on the road Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. against Louisville. Both matches will stream live on ACC Network Extra.
Notre Dame vs. NC State
Notre Dame holds a 9-3 all-time record against NC State. The Fighting Irish have won the last five matches in the series. NC State's most recent win over Notre Dame came in a 3-0 victory on Oct. 27, 2019, at Dail Soccer Stadium. The Wolfpack won the first meeting between the two teams, 4-3, on Sept. 5, 1992.
Scouting Notre Dame
Notre Dame is ranked No. 13 as they enter the second week of conference matchups. With a 7-1 record the Fighting Irish's scoring offense ranks 12th overall and is 6-0 when leading at the half. Notre Dame is led by their breakout freshman Izzy Engle. Engle has tallied 10 goals in nine games, along with 21 points to rank her fifth in the nation (third in ACC).
Louisville vs. NC State
The Wolfpack are 5-4-1 all-time against Louisville. NC State defeated Louisville in back-to-back road matches in 2019. Their efforts secured a win in the regular-season finale and in the opening round of the ACC Tournament.
Scouting Louisville
Louisville (5-2-2) enters their second week of conference play 0-1, having lost to Pitt Sept. 14. The Cardinals have shut out three of their opponents this year and held them to only 62 shots. Junior Karsyn Cherry leads the team with six goals, one assist and 13 points. Louisville is coming off of a bye week, and will face Virginia Tech before hosting NC State on Sunday.
