
NC State Falls to No. 1 Stanford

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State women's soccer team fell 2-0 to No. 1 Stanford on Sunday afternoon at Dail Soccer Field.
The first half ended in a scoreless, with Stanford outshooting NC State 10-1. The Wolfpack defense, however, held strong with five saves to Stanford's zero.
Stanford broke the deadlock in the 58th minute when Jasmine Aikey sent a shot to the upper left corner to give the Cardinal a 1-0 lead.
Annika Wohner led NC State with three shots, while teammates Antonella Mazziotto and Alex Mohr each added one.
Wohner nearly put NC State on the board with a shot from just outside the penalty box in the final 10 seconds of the first half, but the Stanford goalkeeper made the stop.
