
Pack Set to Host VCU and Coastal Carolina for Summit Hospitality Group Open

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The NC State volleyball team is set to host VCU and Coastal Carolina for the second annual Summit Hospitality Group Open September 20-22 at Reynolds Coliseum. The Wolfpack is set to host the Rams on Friday at 7pm before hosting the Chanticleers on Sunday at 1pm.Â

- Friday's match up with the Rams marks just the sixth between the two programs. VCU enters the match with a 3-2 record over the Pack, but NC State holds a 2-1 record when playing in Raleigh.
- Sunday's meeting with the Chanticleer's will be just the third ever and the two programs are even (1-1) in the series.
- Both VCU and Coastal Carolina head to Raleigh having lost its the last two matches ; NC State is on a three-game winning-streak.
- In the four-set win over South Florida, who received votes in last weeks AVCA coaches poll, the Pack recorded 13 total blocks (1 solo, 24 assists). At the beginning of the third set, the Pack was out-blocking the Bulls 11-0 and finished the match out-blocking USF, 13-6
- The Pack also tallied a season high 12 service aces in both matches of the South Florida Invitational - a mark that ties for seventh most in a single match in program history.
- Senior libero Skye Stokes has recorded at least one service ace in 82 games throughout her career. She leads all active players in the ACC for most games with a service ace in their career.
- She currently ranks 11th in the nation for active career leaders (D1) in service aces and is the only student-athlete in the ACC that ranks in the top 15 for the stat.
- Stokes totaled at least one service ace in 18 of the squad's 29 matches last season.
- She recorded a career high seven in four set win at Boston College and marked the fourth most in a single match in program history. Her seven aces against the Eagles marked just the second time an athlete in the ACC recorded that many in a match in 2023 (Georgia Tech's Bianca Bertolino recorded that many against Louisville seven days prior).
- Entering the 2024 season, she sat at 145 career service aces (102 at West Virginia plus 43 at NC State)Â - a mark that ranks eighth in program history for most in a career. She also recorded a mark of 0.39 aces per set in 2023 to take the top spot in the record book for career average - breaking a record that sat for 20 years (Julia Reiss recorded 0.33 aces per set in her lone season with the Pack in 2003).
- Her jump serve, which makes any gym she's in go silent, always shocks opponent due to the spin and speed of the ball.
