Pack Opens 2024 Season Friday at Adidas XC Challenge

RALEIGH, N.C.– The NC State cross country team is gearing up for the 2024 season, set to open with the adidas XC Challenge on Friday, September 20, 2024, at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.

Time: Men's 6k – 5:15 p.m. | Women's 5k – 5:55 p.m.

Leading the women's team is head coach Laurie Henes, who was named the USTFCCCA Women's Coach of the Year for the third consecutive season last year. She also earned her ninth ACC Women's Coach of the Year, and ninth NCAA Southeast Region Coach of the Year honors last season.
The women's program enters the season ranked No. 1 in both the USTFCCCA National Preseason Coaches' Poll and the ACC Preseason Poll. The team is aiming for their fourth straight national championship and their eighth consecutive ACC championship.
The 2024 season will mark Rollie Geiger's 43rd year as the head coach of the men's cross country team.
As Geiger leads the men into another campaign, they open the season ranked No. 4 in the USTFCCCA Regional Poll and No. 7 in the ACC Preseason Poll.
Following the adidas XC Challenge, the Pack will then head to the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational and the ECU Pirate Invitational on Friday, October 4.
