RALEIGH, NC- Another highly touted tennis recruit has signed on with the Wolfpack. Gabia Paskauskas will join the Wolfpack beginning with the 2024-25 season, head coach Simon Earnshaw announced on Wednesday.Â
Â
Gabia will join her sister Kristina, who is currently a freshman on the team.
Â
The London, England native comes to Raleigh with three ITF Junior Singles titles and five ITF Junior Doubles titles. She has been ranked as high as 72 in the ITF Junior world rankings.
Â
Ranked the sixth-best player in Great Britain, Paskauskas has also played on the British Tour winning both the Frinton Grade 2 event in 2023 and Cumberland Grade 2 event in 2022.
Â
Outside of tennis, Gabia enjoys music, dancing, trying new food, running, writing stories, and exploring new places and restaurants to enjoy with my friends and family.Â
Â
This is the second recruit to sign with Wolfpack already, as Paskauskas joins US Blue Chip Mia Slama, who signed on back in the fall.
Â
From Gabia
"I look for trust, challenge, excitement, honesty, hard work, and passion in the environment that I surround myself in," Paskauskas said "That's the environment I felt at NC State."
Â
From Coach Earnshaw
"Gabia is someone who really impressed us, especially in the second half of 2023," head coach Earnshaw said. "Obviously we were well aware of her already but the dedication Gabia showed to growing on and off the court and the results that were provided for as a result brought her into focus. Gabia has been extremely thoughtful and responsive throughout this process and I'm confident she has the work ethic along with maturity to thrive in our program. Everyone is excited to have her on board as we continue to build our recruiting class for the 2024-25 school year. Go Pack!!Â
