
Pack Set to Host NC Central for Final Two Non-Conference Games of the Season

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The NC State softball team is set to host NC Central for a double header on Wednesday, April 24 for the final two non-conference games of the season.Â
The Pack will face the Eagles at 4pm and game two is set to begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Fans attending game one will need to utilize the virtual parking permit to park on campus prior to 5pm.Â

- Would move the Pack to 26-20 on the season
- (in game one) Would be the seventh win over NC Central
- Would mark the 620th win in program history
- Would be the 247th win at Dail Softball Stadium
- Wednesday's double header marks the seventh all-time meeting between the two programs. It also marks just the second time the two program's have played a double header -- first DH was in 2023.
- The Pack won the first five meetings but NC Central earned its first win in game one in 2023. The Pack won the second game 19-9 in six innings.
- The 19-9 win in 2023 saw two members of the current roster hit home runs -- Nadia Sykes hit a grand slam in the second and Bailey Edwards hit a two-run shot in the sixth.
- The Pack has scored as many as 24 runs and as few as three against the Eagles.
- The Pack recorded six stolen bases against both St. John's (2/11) and Campbell (2/18). The total ties for second most in a single game in program history.
- In the double header against Presbyterian on April 20, the Pack tallied five stolen bases between the two games.
- The 2024 squad has tallied 66 stolen bases throughout the season (led by MaKayla Mabury with 15 and Nadia Sykes with 13). The mark ranks second in program history for most in a single season and marks the most since 2021 when that squad set the program record with 91.
- The second baseman tallied her 95th career hit in the win over Presbyterian on April 20.
- The senior would be the second member of the 2024 roster to achieve 100 career hits during the season.
- Sophomore catcher Amanda Hasler is making her presence known on the diamond.
- She leads the team with 13 home runs, 12 hit by pitch tallies and is second on the team with 44 hits, 90 total bases.
- Her 29 career hit by pitch total ties the program record for most in a career -- Alyssa Ishibashi recorded 29 in her career.
- A nerd of the game, Hasler is one of the most intelligent softball players on the diamond. She is constantly putting in the work to grow her game and be able to help her teammates out.
- During her freshman campaign, she became just the second catcher in program history to call pitches. She also set the program record for total number of hit by pitch for a freshman (16).
- Her 22 career home runs leads the 2024 squad with most in their career
