Win Scott (0-1) took the loss for the Wolfpack (20-14), his first pitching decision of the season, while Campbell's Drew Siegner improved to 3-1 on the year with the win.
Five NC State hitters recorded a multi-hit night performance, with Eli Serrano III, Josh Hogue and Alec Makarewicz each contributing two hits while Chase Nixon and Garrett Pennington added three apiece.
The Camels (24-11) struck first after a third-inning solo shot from Charlie Meglio, but despite two runners in scoring position with no outs later in the frame, Campbell could only muster one run after Serrano III doubled up a pair of Camels. Serrano III retrieved a fly ball in center field before throwing out a runner at home plate attempting to tag up from third base.
Campbell doubled its lead in the fourth inning when Meglio collected his second RBI of the night. The freshman singled through the right side with runners on the corners to move the Camels ahead 2-0.
NC State plated its first run of the night in the home half of the fourth after a leadoff double from Makarewicz paired with two wild pitches from Campbell starting pitcher Zach Sabers sent Makarewicz home and cut the Camels' lead to 2-1.
After a two-run home run from Reed Stallman extended Campbell's edge to 4-1 in the sixth, it was once again Makarewicz who answered the bell for the Pack. The graduate third baseman tacked on his 14th home run of the season, the most of any player on NC State's roster.
Makarewicz's two-out solo home run in the seventh inning trimmed the Camels' lead to 4-2, but a three-run home run by Campbell's Max Weller in the eighth inning pushed the Fighting Camels back in front 7-2, a lead the Wolfpack shrunk to just one run in the home half of the eighth.
Luke Nixon got the rally started for NC State, driving home Brandon Butterworth on a bases-loaded sacrifice fly. The Pack did three runs worth of damage with two outs immediately following Nixon's productive flyout, including a two RBI-single from Pennington that cut the four-run deficit to 7-5. Back-to-back walks from Hogue and Makarewicz reloaded the bases for Jacob Cozart, who reached on a fielding error that pushed Pennington across the plate.
A leadoff home run by Serrano in the bottom of the ninth tied the score, with the sophomore's fifth long ball of the season knotting the score at 7-7.
The Wolfpack and Camels left a combined 11 runners on base in the ninth, 10th and 11th innings, despite NC State picking up just three hits and Campbell held hitless during the same stretch.
The Camels finally broke that spell in the top of the 12th frame, when a two-RBI double from Braeden O'Shaughnessy moved Campbell ahead 9-7, followed by the Camels extending their lead to 10-7 after O'Shaughnessy advanced to third on a throwing error and was plated one batter later after an RBI groundout from Peyton Bonds.
