
No. 18 Gymnastics Closes Regular Season at Florida Quad

RALEIGH, N.C -Â No. 18 NC State gymnastics is set to compete in its final regular season meet of the year on Friday night, as the Wolfpack travels to No. 4 Florida for a quad meet against the Gators, Iowa State and LIU.

The 2024 regular season will close as one of the most successful in NC State history, with the Pack claiming the ACC Regular Season Championship and recording three scores of 197+, including a 197.575 on Feb. 17 against Clemson that ranks as the second-highest score in program history.

NC State enters Friday night's meet having most recently won a quad meet against Penn, Penn State and Texas Woman's University, with the Pack leading the way at 197.375. NC State fired a season-high 49.475 in the quad, improving its previous best of 49.425 it had posted just three days earlier at Temple with Maryland and Penn.

The Wolfpack will meet a pair of familiar foes to close the regular season, as NC State and LIU were previously conference foes as a member of EAGL. The Pack additionally faced Iowa State on Mar. 2, winning a quad over the Cyclones, Northern Illinois and Temple.

Iowa State is also the alma mater of NC State head coach Kim Landrus, who was a four-year letterwinner for the Cyclones during 1994-97.

Fourth-ranked Florida enters Friday's quad having just fired a first-place 197.700 in a quad meet at Nebraska with Eastern Michigan and Lindenwood.

The Pack and Gators faced off most recently in 2022, with the Gators visiting Reynolds Coliseum alongside Penn and Rutgers.

Friday's quad is slated for a 6:45 p.m. start time, with a stream broadcast on SEC Network + through the WatchESPN app.
