Top 10 Matchup on Deck: NC State Plays South Carolina at Ally Tipoff

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – All eyes will be on a top 10 matchup between No. 9/8 NC State women's basketball and No. 1/1 South Carolina for the first of two games at the second annual Ally Tipoff, organized by the Charlotte Sports Foundation. The two teams will tipoff at 3 p.m. from the Spectrum Center, and coverage of the game will be broadcast on ESPN. The Ally Tipoff mimics a Final Four-like experience for the teams and fans.
SCOUTING NC STATE
- After one game, the Pack leads the ACC in least fouls per game (7.0), and is second in offensive rebounds per game (21.0), fifth in rebounds per game (49.0) and rebound margin (19.0)
- Nationally, the Pack is second in least fouls per game, 21st in offensive rebounds per game, 30th in rebound margin and 39th in rebounds per game
- Based off the ETSU game, Zoe Brooks is the leading scorer (21.0 points per game) and disher (4.0 assists per game), Aziaha James leads on the boards (9.0 rebounds per game), Saniya Rivers has 3.0 steals per game and Tilda Trygger has 2.0 blocks per game
- Rivers will face her former team on Sunday, having played at SC her freshman year, winning the national championship in 2021
- The Wolfpack has the fifth toughest non-conference schedule in relation to its opponents' final 2023-24 NET ranking, with that NET average being 107. That is the second toughest among ACC schools
- NC State was picked to finish second in the ACC after tying for second in the league and earning the No. 2 seed at the ACC Tournament last season. The Pack received eight first-place votes
- The Pack was one of three schools to have at least two players on the 10-person Blue Ribbon Panel Preseason All-ACC Team. Rivers and James earned spots on that preseason team after being named All-ACC First Team recipients in 2023-24

SCOUTING SOUTH CAROLINA
- SC was picked to win the SEC in the media and coaches polls
- The Gamecocks are ranked No. 1 in the preseason AP and coaches polls after winning the 2024 NCAA Championship
- Chloe Kitts is the leading scorer and rebounder after the Gamecocks' 68-62 win over Michigan in Las Vegas on Monday, tallying 19 points and 14 rebounds
- Te-Hina Paopao was tabbed to the Preseason All-SEC First Team. Raven Johnson and MiLaysia Fulwiley were named to the Preseason All-SEC Second Team
- Paopao is coming off her first year at SC, having logged 11.0 points per game and 136 total assists
- Fulwiley is the leading returning scorer from the 2023-24 team with 11.7 points per game and tallied 63 steals
- Johnson logged 8.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game along with 179 total assists, which paced the team last season
SERIES HISTORY (NC STATE LEADS SERIES 20-13)
- The Pack plays South Carolina for the 34th time in school history
- The two teams have played three times in the past four seasons, including last year in the NCAA Final Four, which resulted in a 78-59 loss for the Pack
