Women’s Basketball Hosts Anderson for Free Exhibition

RALEIGH – The NC State women's basketball team will host Anderson (S.C.) for an exhibition game on Tuesday, Oct. 29. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Kay Yow Court inside Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum.
Admission to the exhibition game is free and doors will open at 6 p.m. The game will not be streamed over television or radio broadcast. Fans can park for free at the Coliseum Deck adjacent to the arena.
SCOUTING NC STATE
- The Pack returns three starters and eight newcomers that account for 72 percent of its points, 82 percent of its 3-pointers made, 88 percent of its assists and 87 percent of its steals from a year ago
- NC State returns Preseason All-ACC Team selections Aziaha James and Saniya Rivers, who were both ACC First Team choices in 2023-24, as well as fifth-year veteran guard Madison Hayes and ACC All-Freshman Team recipient Zoe Brooks
- The Pack's freshman class was ranked as high as No. 10 to mark a second straight top 10 class. Zamareya Jones was named to the ACC Preseason Watch List and came in ranked as high as No. 17, Devyn Quigley came in as a top 50 ESPN recruit, Lorena Awou is a strong post with big upside and Tilda Trygger is a versatile player on the Swedish National Team
- Head coach Wes Moore enters his 12th season at the helm at NC State, 36th overall. With 831 wins, Coach Moore has the second most wins of all active NCAA DI Women's Basketball coaches and has led NC State to five Sweet 16 showings, two Elite 8 appearances and one Final Four
- The Pack is coming off a 31-7 season with a program record tying nine ranked wins, including four top five victories
- Last season was capped off with an NCAA Final Four run, the first for the Pack since 1998 and first in Moore's career
- This season, the Pack has one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country. Based off 2023-24 final NET rankings of NC State's non-conference opponents, the Pack's opponents have a NET average of 107, which is second in the ACC and fifth in the country
- Reynolds Coliseum is one of the toughest places to play in the country with the program reporting 11 sellouts of its 16 games as of Monday. The Pack is also currently on a 12-game sell-out streak (not including NCAA Tournament games)
SCOUTING ANDERSON
- The Trojans, out of the South Atlantic Conference, are coming off a 22-9 record and an NCAA Southeast Regional Semifinal appearance
- Anderson is led by Diamond McDowell, who led the team with 16.6 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. She also tallied 90 assists and 54 steals last season
- Zamiya Passmore paced the squad with 205 assists and a team-tying best 61 steals
- The Trojans are led by Jonathon Barbaree, who enters his ninth year at the helm

NC State opens the 2024-25 season officially against ETSU on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
