NC State Drops Game at No. 9/13 Duke

DURHAM, N.C. – The NC State women's basketball team fell to No. 9/13 Duke on the road Thursday, 83-65.
Duke punched first in the game, using a little over two minutes to go on a 12-0 run in the first quarter to lead 18-6 with 3:41 left in the frame. NC State trail 41-26 in the half, but used a 22-15 third quarter to get back into the game. Zoe Brooks logged five straight baskets in the third and two Brooks free throws cut the deficit to six with 1:36 left in the third. That was the closest the Pack could get, as Duke outscored NC State 27-17 in the fourth.
NC State was dominated by Duke on the boards 41-25 and had 18 assists compared to the Pack's five.
The Pack won the battle in points in the paint (42-36) and logged nine steals.
Pierre led the Pack with 24 points, five rebounds and two steals. Brooks also added 21, scoring all of those points in the second half.
NC State falls 17-9 and 10-5 in ACC play.

NC State will return home to host Syracuse on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast on The CW.
