
No. 7 Wolfpack Prepares to Host ITA Kickoff Weekend Matches

RALEIGH, N.C. – The eighth-ranked Wolfpack women's tennis team (3-0) will host ITA Kickoff Weekend for the fifth season in a row, with matches taking place on Saturday, Jan. 27, and Sunday, Jan. 28.

Each team is guaranteed two matches, one each day of the regional. Winners and losers from Saturday's showdown will compete on Sunday. Results from the weekend will determine who advances to ITA National Team Indoor Championships. The Indoor Championships will be held in Seattle, Wash. Feb. 9-12.

The undefeated start has seen Amelia Rajecki, Abigail Rencheli, and Sophie Abrams all move up the Wolfpack all-time career wins list in singles play. Rencheli moves into sixth all-time with 86 singles wins, Rajecki moves into a tie for sixth with Julia Roach with 85 singles wins, and Abrams moves into the top 10 of both singles and doubles all-time wins, earning her 62 double wins and 73rd singles win.
The Wolfpack freshmen have also made their marks this season, with Maddy Zampardo, Gabriella Broadfoot, and Kristina Paskauskas all earning their first-career wins within the first three matches.
For the eighth season in a row, the squad will take part in the ITA Weekend Kickoff field. In addition to the Wolfpack, the tournament will feature Alabama, Clemson, and Iowa at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
