Gymnastics Opens Home Slate With Dual Meet Against Pitt

RALEIGH – NC State Gymnastics returns to Reynolds Coliseum for the first home meet of its 2024 campaign on Friday night, as the Wolfpack is set to host Pitt in an ACC tilt.
The Pack enters Friday's matchup having just posted its best score of the 2024 season, with NC State opening its ACC slate with a 196.225-195.325 dual-meet victory over North Carolina.
NC State's performance against the Tar Heels was highlighted by season-high scores as a team on bars, beam, and floor, while Chloe Negrete took a pair of individual titles on vault and floor as well. Katie Harper captured her first podium finish with a first-place result on bars, while Alexis Ortega and Macy Jennings, alongside one UNC gymnast, tied for first on beam.
Pitt enters Friday's meet having just posted a season-high total of 194.775 in a dual meet at Clemson. Like NC State, the Panthers have improved their score in every meet so far this season, having started the year with a quad meet against Penn, Penn State and Temple while hosting Kent State in their home opener on Jan. 13.
Friday's contest marks the first of five home meets for the Wolfpack in 2024, with its next coming on Sunday, Feb. 11 after next week's meet at Clemson.
The matchup between the Wolfpack and Panthers is slated for a 7 p.m. start time, with a stream available on the ACC Network Extra through the WatchESPN app. Tickets will be available ahead of the meet on GoPack.com, while purchases can also be made at the door. Fans in attendance will be treated to a Taylor Swift-themed evening, as NC State gymnastics celebrates its New Era as a member of the ACC with Taylor Swift night.
