Volleyball to Host Notre Dame and No. 5 Louisville

RALEIGH -- The NC State volleyball team is set to host Notre Dame and No. 5 Louisville for the second weekend of conference play starting on Friday Sept. 29. The Pack will host the Fighting Irish on Friday at 1pm and admission to the match will be free. The nationally ranked Cardinals will come to Reynolds on Sunday Oct. 1 for a 4pm meeting with the Wolfpack on ACCN.

- The Pack hold a 9-5 advantage over the Fighting Irish and have won four of the last five meetings
- In 2022, NC State deafeated the Irish in both meetings and Martyna Leoniak recorded 28 kills between the two
- Louisville holds a 8-1 advantage over the Pack in the series history that dates back to 2014 (minus the lone match prior to that in 1992)
- The last time the Wolfpack defeated the Cardinals, the iPhone 7 had just been released (2016)
- The 2023 squad as marked several milestones through the first 13 matches of the season
- Against Utah Valley on Aug. 26, the Pack rallied back from a 2-0 deficit to record a reverse sweep, which was the first time since 2015 this occured
- The 11-1 record (matches through Sept. 22) was the best start to a season since 2015 and under head coach Luka Slabe
- The squads 10-match win-streak (matches from Aug. 26 to Sept. 22) was the longest since 2014 and with Slabe at the helm
- The Pack looks to maintain its undefeated record at home in week two of conference play
- In nonconference play, the Pack went 5-0 at home
- In the 47 years of the program, the Pack has never defeated a ranked team in Reynolds
- Sunday's meeting with the Cardinals will be a battle for the Wolfpack, as they come to Raleigh ranked fifth in the country and won the last six meetings (including the last two in Reynolds)
- Junior opposite Amanda Rice recorded a career high 18 kills against Rutgers and Ohio
- Due to her performance at the Bobcat Invitational, she earned Tournament MVP
- With her seventh kill of the evening against George Washington, she surpassed 500 on her career
