Tuohy Named ACC Women’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Outdoor Track and Field

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – NC State All-America distance runner Katelyn Tuohy has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Outdoor Track and Field and leads the sport's All-ACC Academic Team announced on Monday by the conference office.
The Scholar-Athlete of the Year laurel is the second of the academic year for Tuohy, who was also recognized as the 2022 Women's Cross Country honoree after leading the Wolfpack to a second straight NCAA title and earning National USTFCCCA Female Athlete of the Year honors.
Tuohy's 2023 Outdoor season included an NCAA-record-setting time of 15:03.12 in the women's 5000-meter race at the Sound Running On Track Fest in California. She also claimed the ACC championship in the 10,0000 meters and earned first-team All-America honors with a seventh-place finish in the women's 1,500 at the NCAA Championships. The Stony Point, New York, native has held a spot on The Bowerman watch list throughout 2022-23.
In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Tuohy has earned Academic All-America accolades while pursuing a degree in Business Administration. She has been named to the NC State Dean's List, All-ACC Academic Teams for both track & field and cross country, and the ACC Academic Honor Roll on multiple occasions.
2023 All-ACC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Academic Team
NC State placed 15 student-athletes on the women's outdoor track and field academic team. Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in the ACC Championship and/or NCAA Championship in Outdoor Track and Field.
