
Gymnastics Geared for EAGL Quad Meet

RALEIGH – The No. 23 NC State gymnastics team continues its 2023 campaign on Friday, Feb. 10, with its first quad meet of the season. The Pack will take on a trio of EAGL foes, with Towson playing host to NC State, Pitt, and Temple.
Coming off a tri-meet victory over North Carolina and Western Michigan with a score of 196.275, the Wolfpack have strung together four-straight scores of 196 or higher for just the fourth time in program history. Having previously met this mark in 2004, 2018, and 2021, three of these four occasions have taken place under the direction of head coach Kim Landrus.
Last week's tri-meet was highlighted by season highs from Alexis Ortega (vault) and Gabrielle Diaz (beam and floor), in addition to a season-high floor score as a team at 49.275. The Pack were led on floor by Chloe Negrete who matched her season-best mark at 9.925.
Friday will mark the first time that NC State has faced off against Towson and Temple in 2023, while the Pack met Pitt during a tri-meet in Reynolds Coliseum on Jan. 21.
Both Towson and Temple enter the evening having posted season-high scores in its most recent meets.
Towson's last time out concluded with a 196.125 in a dual-meet victory over George Washington, while Temple posted a 194.950 in a win over Yale.
Pitt enters Saturday having most recently scored a 195.775 in a quad meet at Denver alongside Air Force and George Washington, while the Panthers' season-high total came in a dual-meet win over West Virginia on Feb. 3.
Friday's contest is slated for 6 p.m. and will be held at the Towson Center in Townson, Md. The meet is set to be streamed live on Youtube.
