Volleyball Set to Travel to Boston College and Virginia Tech

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Wolfpack volleyball team is set to travel north to take on Boston College and Virginia Tech for week eight of Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Pack will take on Boston College on Friday Nov. 10 at 7pm before heading the Blacksburg to take on Virginia Tech on Sunday Nov. 12 at 1pm. Both matches will be streamed on ACCNX.

The Match Up

The Wolfpack looks to defeat the Eagles in Massachusets on Friday, exactly one week after they loss via reverse in Raleigh
NC State holds a 14-13 record with Boston College, but have only won two of the last five meetings
In the meeting in Raleigh, Ava Brizard tallied 21 kills, while Amanda Rice added 20
The Pack have have won the last 10 meetings with the Hokies, with the last loss dating back to 2015
When playing in Blacksburg, the Pack are 4-9
In the two teams meeting in October, Ava Brizard led the way with 13 kills while hitting .321 in the match

Junior opposite Amanda Rice surpassed her previous career high of 18 kills like it was just anotherday in the office

Queen of the Service Line

Senior libero Skye Stokes has totaled a service ace in one-third of the team's matches this season
Her jump serve, which makes any gym she's in go silent, always shocks opponent due to the spin and speed
She leads the Pack with 31 aces and counting
Her season high is four in a match but her career high, set during her time at West Virginia, is six (recorded during the 2021 campaign)

Defend the Den

The Pack is holds a 10-2 record when playing in Reynolds Coliseum this season
Prior to the 2023 season, the last time NC State lost in Reynolds was Oct. 30, 2022 against then No. 10 Georgia Tech
The only team to defeat the Wolfpack on their home court this season is No. 7 Pitt and Boston College
The last time the Pack lost in Reynolds was 355 days from the Oct. 20th loss to Pitt
The squad's 10-1 record at home is the best start to the season since 2017 when the team went 12-0 in Reynolds Coliseum

Season of Milestones

The 2023 squad as marked several milestones through the first 15 matches of the season
Against Utah Valley on Aug. 26, the Pack rallied back from a 2-0 deficit to record a reverse sweep, which was the first time since 2015 this occurred
The 11-1 record (matches through Sept. 22) was the best start to a season since 2015 and under head coach Luka Slabe
The squads 10-match win-streak (matches from Aug. 26 to Sept. 22) was the longest since 2014 and with Slabe at the helm
The win over No. 5 Louisville marked the first win over a top-five team, first win over a ranked team in Reynolds, and the second win over a top-25 team in program history
NC State also received votes in the October 2 AVCA Coaches Poll (no record of this occurring before)
In the first RPI ranking of the 2023 season (released on Oct. 3), the Pack ranked in at 27th, a program best, and was one of five ACC schools in the top-30

Fifth year setter Kristen McDaniel recorded her 74th match with 20 or more assists in the Pack defeated UNC on Oct. 27
