Wrapping up fall season with ITF pro futures win in East Lansing, MI

Robin Catry and Fons Van Sambeek go on to win the doubles ITF M15 pro futures tournament in East Lansing, MI
Raleigh N.C.- Over the past two weeks NC State men's tennis competed in two ITF pro futures events, to conclude the fall slate.
Winston-Salem, N.C.- The Wolfpack traveled to Winston- Salem, North Carolina November 6-10 to compete in the ITF Winston-Salem Futures Event. Making an appearance were Martin Borisouik, Braden Shick, Damien Salvestre, Luca Staeheli, Robin Catry, Fons Van Sambeek, and Joe Wayand.
Standout performances included: Junior All-American Joe Wayand secured his first ATP points by winning his doubles match November 7th against opponents Franco Capalbo & Dhakshineswar Suresh. Joe Wayand and his partner Alexander Razeghi won 3-6, 6-3, 11-9. Robin Catry advanced to the quarter-finals in singles. Luca Staeheli and Robin Catry made it to semi-finals in doubles. Catry also came out on top against former #1 UNC opponent Brian Cernoch advancing him to the quarter-finals in singles on day 4 of the tournament. Martin Borisouik defeated top U.S class of 2024 recruit Alexander Razeghi on the second day of the tournament earning his ATP points, and advancing him to the second round of singles. Also earning ATP points were Braden Shick, and Luca Staeheli who each advanced to the round of 16 in singles.
East Lansing, MI.- The Pack were on the road making the trip to East Lansing, Michigan to participate in the ITF M15 pro futures tournament November 14-18. In attendance was Robin Catry, Damein Salvestre, Braden Shick, and Fons Van Sambeek. Robin Catry and Fons Van Sambeek took home the doubles title to Raleigh after securing the win against opponents Alfalfa Ayeni & Matthew Rankin in the final. Final Score was 6-3, 6-4. Additionally Braden Shick, Damien Salvestre, and Fons Van Sambeek each secured ATP points by reaching the round of 16 in singles. Robin Catry and Fons Van Sambeek defeat #2 ranked in college tennis Ozan Baris and Max Sheldon in the doubles quarter-finals November 16.
