Wolfpack Set to Travel to Duke and UNC

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Wolfpack volleyball team is set to travel down Tobacco Road to take on Duke and UNC for week six of Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Pack will face the Bue Devils at Cameron Indoor on Friday Oct. 27 at 6:30pm on ACCNX, before heading to Carmichael Arena to take on the Tar Heels on Sunday at 4pm on ACCNX.Â

- The Wolfpack will travel down Tobacco Road for week six of conference play
- The Blue Devils hold a 29-7 advantage over the Pack in the series and won three of the last five meetings
- In the 48 years that the Pack have met with the Blue Devils, NC State has not won in Cameron Indoor since the 70's
- The Tar Heels lead the series 39-4, winning eight of the last 10 meetings
- When playing at UNC, the Pack has won eight of the 48 matches played on the Tar Heels home court
- Senior libero Skye Stokes has totaled a service ace in one-third of the team's matches this season
- Her jump serve, which makes any gym she's in go silent, always shocks opponent due to the spin and speed
- She leads the Pack with 28 aces and counting
- Her season high is four in a match but her career high, set during her time at West Virginia was six (recorded during the 2021 campaign)
- Junior middle blocker Jada Allen earned defensive player of the week, as announced by the ACC on Oct. 16, for her paly against Wake Forest and Virginia TechÂ

- Sophomore Ava Brizard recorded a career high 25 kills against Florida State, becoming only the second member of the Pack to do so since 2012 -- Melissa Evans recorded 25 v Rutgers in 2021 (Brie Merriwther recorded 26 against Clemson in 2012)
- She only recorded 3 errors on 53 attacks to finish with a .415 hitting percentage
- The 2023 squad as marked several milestones through the first 15 matches of the season
- Against Utah Valley on Aug. 26, the Pack rallied back from a 2-0 deficit to record a reverse sweep, which was the first time since 2015 this occurred
- The 11-1 record (matches through Sept. 22) was the best start to a season since 2015 and under head coach Luka Slabe
- The squads 10-match win-streak (matches from Aug. 26 to Sept. 22) was the longest since 2014 and with Slabe at the helm
- The win over No. 5 Louisville marked the first win over a top-five team, first win over a ranked team in Reynolds, and the second win over a top-25 team in program history
- NC State also received votes in the October 2 AVCA Coaches Poll (no record of this occurring before)
- In the first RPI ranking of the 2023 season (released on Oct. 3), the Pack ranked in at 27th, a program best, and is one of five ACC schools in the top-30
- Fifth year setter Kristen McDaniel recorded her 72nd match with 20 or more assists in the Pack defeated Virginia on Oct. 22
- She currently sits 330 assists away from 3K
