
Wolfpack Drops Home Finale 1-0 to No. 12 Notre Dame

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State women's soccer dropped its home finale 1-0 to No. 12 Notre Dame on Sunday at Dail Soccer Stadium.
Notre Dame's Leah Klenke scored the game-winner off a corner kick in the 66th minute. Morgan Roy crossed in the ball from the right corner flag before Eva Gaetino won the first header, directing the ball toward Klenke who finished from close range.
Hannah Jibril almost put the Wolfpack ahead in the 57th minute, sprinting down the right flank on a counter attack before firing her right-footed shot toward Atlee Olofson's goal. Olofson saved Jibril's shot to keep the game scoreless.
NC State and Notre Dame entered halftime tied at 0-0. Notre Dame's Kristina Lynch hit the crossbar on a header in the 25th minute before Olivia Pratapas saved the follow-up effort from Klenke.
Klenke's second-half goal snapped NC State's shutout streak at 271 minutes, spanning all the way back to the Pack's 2-1 victory over Virginia on Oct. 8.
Jibril paced NC State with two shots and two shots on target just one game after scoring her first-career goal. Pratapas made four saves in NC State's final home game of the year.
