Pack Continues Busy October with 10th-Place Finish at Tar Heel Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — NC State women's golf finished 10th at the 2023 edition of the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational, ending the tournament with a score of 892 (+28).
Vania Simont led the way with the Wolfpack's lowest score of the event, a six-over 222 that she rounded out with a third-round 72. She finished in the top 30 and was followed closely by teammate Isabel Amezcua's score of 223.
Lauren Olivares Leon posted her third sub-70 score of the year in the second round with a 69, finishing nine-over at 225. Ellise Rymer tied that mark, and Jaclyn Kenzel made her season debut for the Pack as well with Caitlin Whitehead also competing as an individual.
NC State makes a quick turnaround and heads to Knoxville, Tenn., to compete in the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championship next week. The team will be in action Oct. 15-17 at the Cherokee Country Club.
